Socialist Economy in eRepublik Empty Socialist Economy in eRepublik

Due to limitations in the set of rules (or the engine) of erepublik, a traditional planned economy can't be established easily.

The Militant Socialist Workers Party, MSAP, has proposed the introduction of a new type of economy in Sweden. Right now most companies are owned by private individuals (right-wing congressmen, the president etc). Workers and consumers are limited to buying and working from these private individuals and their companies. We want to introduce new alternatives on the market which will enable multiple choices for the worker, thus increasing his freedom. The worker gets to choose if he wants to work for a private company, a cooperative or the state. The state must guarantee that all can get their choices through. We have proposed that the state at least owns one company in every sector to begin with. State ownership guarantees good prices and good wages, because no profit has to be made. With all the tax money supporting it, it can break through high-prices set by private companies and push them down in times of need (or in general).

If enough workers want to work at better conditions at state owned companies most private companies will be phased out, and the state has no problem in competing them away should the need arise.

Another type of ownership is the cooperative. Here we want the state to subsidize the foundation of contract-based cooperatives. And again, the workers will work at better conditions here, because all "profit" is allocated in their own pockets and through their own work. The worker is the owner, and that makes him interested in the well-being of the company, because he owns the fruits of his own labour. Over time, private companies will be pushed back, because it's more rational for a worker to work in and buy from a cooperative or state owned company. The important thing for the state to do is to encourage and plant the seeds for state-ownership and cooperatives.

The capitalist in erepublik is just a parasite like in the real world. Here they are just taking out money from the businesses and away from the workers. If the capitalist is removed there will be more left for the workers. Naturally capitalists are needed to create new companies in a capitalist economy, but in "the new economy" the state or the workers' themselves can fill this function much more easily. Capitalists are made obsolete.

Socialist Economy in eRepublik Empty Re: Socialist Economy in eRepublik

This is nothing new, comrade. This is similiar to the Gosplan written by Hatebot over one year ago. Currently the CPSU is operating in a fashion, as you define it "cooperative". This means we re-invest our money into the communes in order to expand the industry. We will continue expanding our industry until we have created a monopoly over each and every market and quality in that market. In other words, we will sell the cheapest products available in such quantities to supply the entire ecountry.

This way the ecapitalists will loose money and are forced one-by-one to sell their companies to other ecapitalists who wish to try their luck or simply to us.

The UK also has a well established and growing commune working that provides it's workers with food, weapons and gifts. There are also a large number of weapons companies where all the product goes to their workers, mostly military owned companies. There is also a growing co-operative movement in the UK. Several people have been working on some. Iain Keers, one of the top people in the UK's ruling center-left TUP, was originally going to develop some but changed his plan. Instead he operates grain and Q2 food companies which have the soul aim of lowering prices. In the short time that it's been operating Q2 food prices are down and projections are very promising. It shan't be long before he's selling Q2 food at just over the minimum wage. These companies don't make a profit. This was in response to a failed nationalisation bill.

The PCP is currently working on a proposal for more non-commercial weapons companies, as well as commune reforms.

Socialist Economy in eRepublik Empty traslation
