Revolutionary greetings, comrades.
Seeing as this is the last day to nominate yourself in the chairman elections and the fact that there aren't any other nominations, I'm nominating myself for the chairman position.

We don't need political factions in the Internationale, especially not right now. Besides, I've been the chairman for several months, I want to see other people activating themselves in the Internationale aswell.

Re: Elections October 2009
Still. The other candidate has yet to even set out a stall. It doesn't fill one with confidence.
Re: Elections October 2009
Comrade Ramon is one of the leading figures in the struggle for socialism in eUSA. He's got a great reputation of knowledge in Socialism and leadership skills. I don't personally doubt the capabilities of comrade Ramon.
In reality, the Internationale is just like the "old" Internationale, which means a forum which has no practical meaning. Comrade Ramon won't be the only one working in making the articles in the constitution a reality. I'm sure the chairman elections will get a lot more popular once we have the membership fee in place, organizations around the New World and a functioning Congress.
If you wish to run for the chairman position, by all means, do so.

Osmany Ramon's Chairman Election Platform
Greetings!
My name is Osmany Ramon http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1384511 from the Socialist Freedom Party in the eUS and I am running for the position of Chairman of the Internationale.
For those of you who do not know, the Internationale is a Congress of far-left parties from around the world working together to promote a global Socialist Movement. The current Internationale is a new institution and these are the first elections for Chairman being held since the adoption of the Constitution. Because it is so new and there are very few precedents for how to proceed, I wanted to take a moment and tell explain to your party what I would like to do as Chairman of the Internationale.
I believe that one of the critical aspects of a healthy socialist movement is the unique character of each party that is involved in the Internationale. Each party has intimate knowledge of the history, culture, politics and state of the class struggle of their respective nations. What works for one nation is not necessarily right for others. I have seen a lot of variety in how different far-left parties operate and I believe that is an important aspect to preserve for all members of the Internationale. Therefore, I would like to keep the Internationale decentralized in its authority. The Internationale should not be used to impose dogma on other parties. I believe that the Constitution reflects this philosophy because it has placed supremacy in the Congress, which is composed of one voting member per party.
But if the Internationale is not to be used to control the parties, what is the point?
The Internationale can be a powerful advocate for the working class all over the New World without forcing its members to change their individual identities. The Congress of the Internationale will be able to introduce and adopt resolutions to condemn or approve of actions taken by government, parties, companies, organizations and individuals. This can be a powerful message to send in these times when there are very few loud voices of criticism against the status quo. The Internationale can also be a locus of organizing and acting so that our words do not ring hollow.
The global socialist movement has only existed where individual parties have helped one another out here or there over time. Individuals from parties or aspiring parties will come to other parties’ forums and ask for help and advice on how to achieve socialism in their nation. We are, on the whole, isolated from one another and this will not suffice if we wish to struggle against the capitalist system which is all pervasive and converting new members daily just because it is perceived as how things were meant to be.
Just as your party forums are a meeting place for party members, so will the Internationale function as a party of parties. We can create a socialist library for all socialists to submit theories on a wide range of topics, guides on how to operate communes, and historical texts to help new citizens get up to speed on the struggle thus preventing us from sliding back every generation. We can create a trading house for our communes so that we can do business with one another instead of selling to the private sector. And we will create a marketplace of ideas through discussions and increased communication that will advance our theories even further.
The Congress and the Chairman will be the ones to maintain an environment for this to take place in. One of the first things that we will have to take up is the matter of organizations, fees and the Internationale’s newspaper. I would like to see the Internationale be the global mouthpiece for the collective voices of the various parties that make up its membership. It will take some money but I don’t want to see the Internationale’s fundraising efforts overshadow the more important work of supporting the working classes of all nations and I do not wish to see the Internationale become a lumbering bureaucratic nightmare.
So, for those of you who have not yet checked out the new forums, I invite you to make an account here: https://theinternationale.forum.st/forum.htm so that you may vote in the Chairman’s election September 27-30, 2009.
Your party should consider naming or electing a representative in the Congress so that we can begin operating in early October. And most importantly, register your party in the following thread: https://theinternationale.forum.st/congress-f2/register-your-parties-goes-for-all-parties-t105.htm
That thread is where you will name your official delegate. I hope to see you all on the Internationale forums because I want it to be a place for all socialists and not just Internationale functionaries!
In Solidarity,
Osmany Ramon

Not sure if there will be a separate thread to record votes, or if we indicate our vote here
If the latter, then please count one vote here for Comrade Osmany Ramon.
