Re: Logo of the Internationale
After thinking about it I think we need to change the logo. We need something that isn't so centered on the hammer and sickle.

Re: Logo of the Internationale
Let's think about it. We're trying to bring people here who aren't just communists(Not even all communists like the symbol either though), but socialists, and anarchists too. Yet there are hammers and sickles everywhere, a symbol used only by communists.

The day this organization gets a red rose or another counter-revolutionary social-democractic nonsense, I will leave this organization.
Hammer & Sickle should remain as our natural symbol.

Wow. It's just a logo. Hence why I think we should not bother ourselves about it. Surely we have more important things to be doing?
Re: Logo of the Internationale
I agree we shouldn't get the red rose, but just look at the SFP's logo. The half cog-wheel half wheat, this is just awesome, and it's not the hammer and sicke.Maksim Chuikov wrote:The day this organization gets a red rose or another counter-revolutionary social-democractic nonsense, I will leave this organization.

Or we could have something like the Progressive Labor Parties logo:

Or we could just simply go with a red flag.

The fist with the anarchist symbol behind it would be nice.

Re: Logo of the Internationale
The eCommies make-up for the majority in the international far-leftist movement. Granted, there are several socialist parties and anarchist (why are there parties with an anarchist orientation when there's no de-centralized option?).

Re: Logo of the Internationale
It is difficult to implement an effective decentralised system but you can certainly try. Anarchism is a growing movement on erep.
Re: Logo of the Internationale
Is it really? I've only seen a few in my day, and I've never actually heard anything about these parties.johnobrow wrote:It is difficult to implement an effective decentralised system but you can certainly try. Anarchism is a growing movement on erep.

Re: Logo of the Internationale
I've only ever come across one party that calls itself Anarchist as far as I can remember but there is certainly something in this European Liberation Front that you might or might not have come across from the eUK.
Re: Logo of the Internationale
@ Molina: That is the logo of the Workers' Militia. This movement is not fixated just on anti-imperialism, it's essentially a small part of this movement. Hence why I don't agree with adapting an icon which is associated with the Workers' Militia or any other militant movement.

the first time that star that was used was in the Spanish civil war, they used the internacionalist brigade.
in any form is just a proposal, take it off if it causes problems.

Re: Logo of the Internationale
I understand the love of the Hammer & Sickle, but it's no reason for having such an ugly logo. Every time I look at the Internationale banner above, I feel like I'm browsing a website made in 1998. It just looks.. amateurish. I do hope we find something a little nicer.
Not that it should be our main and solitary concern though. A logo is just a logo. What's important is our actions, not the badges we wear.

Re: Logo of the Internationale
@ Sero: I definetly agree with you on the 1998 part, it was a temporarily logo found by comrade Nero. We should get a new logo. The proposal set forward about the cogs and wheels is most interested. In my opinion we should still have a logo which focuses on the proletariat & peasantry, because it covers our actions and ideals better then a militant logo.
@ Molin: Yes, I know that the logo was used by the internationalist brigade, but in eRepublik it's associated with the Workers' Militia (which is almost the same thing). That is, an anti-imperialist militant organization.

Re: Logo of the Internationale
Two things,
The forum banner is too deep. It takes up too much room on a desktop computer, let alone on a PDA or iphone/touch.
I'd prefer something more broad lefty, not so hard line bolshevik.
I suppose I'd better find something for myself then.

No offense, comrade, but that is swastika
Re: Logo of the Internationale
yea it pretty much looks like it
the logo in the banner indeed is ugly
it shouldnt be hard to make a new one better looking with the same symbolism (hammer and sickle red star etc)
