How about a full header for the forum? I think it makes it more powerfull.

Made this new version of the header with transparent background to overlay on the red header box.

Well the logo would be the official symbol but the header could have a background. I don't see a problem. My only bit of advice would be to make the header a bit shorter because I remember someone said it annoyed when they accessed the forums on their cellphone.

I made a small change to make a smoother transition of the light beams. As the header width resizes with different monitor resolutions I shortened it a bit and made two smaller versions.

Hopefully these will be final.
