I'm a democratic socialist IRL, and a member of the Swedish social democratic party - the olderst and largest political party in Sweden.

SKP, Suomen Kommunistinen Puolue. In English it stands for the Finnish Communist Party.

It's a very small party with just only 2000 members. After the "Fall of the wall", the Communist party in Finland changed its name to the "Leftist union" (vänsterförbundet / vasemmistoliitto), showing how "communist" their intentions really were. Now they're collaborating with the counter-revolutionary social-democrats.

Not much point joining a party in America in my opinion. Democrat or Republican is the only thing people care about. Everything else is laughable. Also I don't think its very true to Anarchist spirit

I shan't join a political party until the bourgeois revolution is complete and there's a party that is actually worth joining. Right now this means my immediate goal is largely the political agenda of the bourgeois Liberal Democrats. In the European Elections however I voted for No2EU a left-wing coalition of a socialist party, a communist party, some other people and backed by the transport union. A large problem with the left in the UK is that it's so divided. It really is a mess. The devastation of New Labour and the advancement of some of the Lib Dem agenda though should help the cause.

I really want to get involved in a communist party in the United States. But from what I've seen and heard, the Communist Party USA is reformist and all they try and do is get Democrats in office. I know there are many more smaller communist parties, but which one I shall join? Who knows.

Ouch. I understand that the Indonesian government has been like that for a long time. They got lots of help from the USA in that respect.

Although I vote for any socialist Candidate that I agree with. Also my party is part of the Left Alternative (coalition of all the socialist parties basically)


@Pharoh yea sorry to hear that mate. I used to live in the US for a time (was born in commonwealth country so thats why im already able to vote here in the UK) and when I told people I was a socialist I was basically harassed for it. The US' spread of anti-left ideology is far from freedom of speech and democracy. As my other friend used to say 'The land of Free Speech...unless your a communist. Then we put you on the watch list and harass you.'

Our local Communist party has some good guys on lower levels, but also a very wrong revisionist politics(such as encouraging of Orthodox Christianity and Slavic nationalism) and corrupt leadership.

I live in Catalonia, one of the nations that shape the Spanish State, though it is the same organization, here we call in Catalan, our language, "CJC - Joves Comunistes del Poble Català", in english would be "CJC - Young Communists of the Catalan People" (Web: http://www.comunistes.org/ )

And the Party, though also it is the same, is call in catalan, "Partit Comunista del Poble de Catalunya", in english would be "Communist Party of the Catalan People" (Web: http://www.comunistes-catalans.blogspot.com/ )

Because of this renaming depending on the zones? Because the Spanish state this one formed by several nations (Not recognized ) but we are a only Party (PCPE) and a only youths (CJC)

Now I will copy a brief explanation on our Party:

"The Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain is a voluntary union of communist militants in the Spanish State, that vindicates the best fighting
traditions of the Spanish communist people. The PCPE is a working class party, in which the most conscious elements organise themselves, that fights to direct it and turn into its vanguard and its superior way of organisation. We strive to organise the progressive and revolutionary movements of the Peoples of Spain in the fight for direct democracy, socialism, and communism.

I'm ill informed about the nations in Spain. Catalonian, Basque and what else? And what is your party position in this issue, sorry, just curious...

The Nations of the Spanish State are Catalonia, Euskal Herria (Basque Country), Castilla, Galiza, Andalucia,.....

Not an easy question, and if it is complicated to explain and train you in this here, imagine what it costs out...

Tell yourself that basically we do not "decide" what are the nations and that "borders" have. This is done by many organizations and is tremendously leftist and child. On the one hand we give voice to our militancy in the area for his opinion on this, and analyze the feelings of other people, but always defending the right of self-determination, including separation if so decided.

I consider myself to be apart of the Democratic Socialist Party of America, which is one of the many parties listed as an (Independent) American Political Party. Last I checked there are around 4 to 5 Independent political parties, out of those there are only 2 that actually get representation in the government. Unfortunately the DSPA does not get official representation. We are however apart of the actual Socialist International....
